Located in the heart of Shropshire, we’re in a fantastic location for anyone visiting from major cities, including Birmingham, Manchester and Liverpool. We have a small carpark available for guests – please let us know if you are planning to visit us by car.

Travelling to us by car provides an enjoyable drive, especially as you enter the Shropshire Hills and get the chance to enjoy the stunning countryside scenery. We’re also located nearby to a number of beautiful Shropshire towns, offering culture, heritage and new places to explore and get lost in – all of which are easy to travel to by car. The market town of Ludlow is less than 30 minutes away and is home to Ludlow Castle. Ludlow is filled with a number of restaurants, cafes and walking and cycling trails.

Shrewsbury is less than 1 hours’ drive from Wood’n’Ribbon, bursting with a wide range of bars, restaurants, cafes and retail outlets. Shrewsbury is home to Wyle Cop – the longest row of uninterrupted independent shops, from small boutiques to chain retailers, Shrewsbury town has plenty to offer visitors.

Travelling by Train

We’re located on the Heart of Wales line, with the train route passing right by our site. The Heart of Wales line is not only a fantastic way to travel to us, but it also offers stunning views to enjoy on your journey. Running between Swansea and Shrewsbury, the route journeys through mountains, forests, quaint towns, meadows and rivers – showcasing all that Wales and the Shropshire countryside has to offer.

The route calls at a number of stations, which are all linked to a new long-distance walking trail, the Heart of Wales Line Trail. Perfect for explorers and ramblers, why not hop off at an earlier station and enjoy a stretch of the trail on your way to us?
